Anorectal manometry is a test that evaluates lower bowel and pelvis function in patients with constipation or stool leakage.
-
For those that suffer from fecal incontinence or constipation due to pelvic floor dyssynergia, we offer biofeedback therapy. Biofeedback therapy has been shown to be an effective method to regain control of the pelvic floor muscle thereby improving symptoms.
-
Over 70 clinical studies demonstrated manometric biofeedback is effective in >60% of patients suffering from fecal incontinence and dysynergic constipation (anismus). Urinary incontinence is successfully treated with manometric biofeedback as well. You may benefit from biofeedback training if you:
Have one or more bowel accidents that are larger than just staining that occurred with no warning.
One or more bowel accidents that are preceded by a strong urge.
Have difficulty with defecation associated with disorder of pelvic floor muscles.
Bowel accidents that occur due to weak anal sphincter muscle.

This test is useful in the diagnosis of unexplained GI bleeding, celiac disease, and iron deficiency anemia. The test allows the doctor to see the lining of your small intestine. It employs a pill-sized video capsule with its own lens and light source. Images are transmitted to a data recorder and are subsequently viewed on a video monitor.

Some patients with inflammatory bowel diseases such as Crohn’s disease and Ulcerative Colitis may require biological therapy to control the condition. We administer infusion of drugs including Remicade (Infliximab), and Entyvio (Vedolizumab) in our Center.

Orbera is a non-surgical weight loss procedure in which a soft durable balloon is placed in the stomach for 6 months. The balloon takes up space and delays the emptying of the stomach. This leads to eating less and feeling full longer. Orbera stomach balloon placement delivers more than 3 times the weight loss of diet and exercise. The majority of weight loss occurs in the first 3 months of placement.

It is a quick, easy, non-invasive, economical procedure to screen for fatty liver disease, alcoholic liver disease, and other chronic inflammatory conditions of the liver. Velacur provides valuable insights into the stage of fibrosis and health of your liver.
What is Fatty Liver Disease?
Fatty liver disease results from an excess amount of fat in the liver. Usually, a small amount of fat is not problematic, but for 20% of those with fatty liver, the condition worsens and leads to inflammation in the liver known as steatohepatitis. This inflammation can further turn into scar tissues, a process called fibrosis. When scar tissue extensively replaces healthy tissue and impairs liver function, cirrhosis occurs which can lead to liver failure or cancer.
Fatty liver has no symptoms. Even if cirrhosis has developed, there are often no symptoms until the liver has become so damaged that the only option is a liver transplant.
Fatty liver and cirrhosis are a threat to your health.
We Recommend Early Screening for fatty liver disease.
If you have type 2 diabetes, obesity, hypertension, or metabolic disease, you may be at higher risk for fatty disease and should discuss screening with your doctor and schedule Velacur study.
